Job Summary

  • Develop, implement and track the success of targeted marketing and communication programs according to the marketing and communication plan. Effectively use a variety of marketing communications methods to motivate and persuade new and existing donors to establish a lasting relationship with the Red Cross and effectively position the Red Cross brand within the community. Successfully utilize the market and behavior data available to evaluate programs, make recommendations for new programs and implement a comprehensive customer relationship management program within the organization.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and other applicable Federal, State, and Local Laws.

Major Responsibilities

Marketing Communications Planning/Implementation

  • * Collaborates with the manager and other department employees in the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive marketing and communication plan. Responsible for the successful implementation and tracking of various parts of the plan.
  • * Develops and implements various marketing programs to ensure that campaigns are targeted appropriately and achieve strategic goals, including: evaluating areas of potential growth, assessing market, researching and responding to targeted segments’ behaviors and attitudes, developing appropriate positioning, message/creative development, campaign design, message delivery method and tracking/evaluation.
  • * Develops, implements, and evaluates marketing and communication campaigns using a wide variety of methods including direct marketing, advertising, public relations, community relations, and media relations.

Customer Relationship Management Program Implementation

  • * Collaborates with the manager and other department employees in the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive customer relationship management (CRM) program within the organization.
  • * Leads the project implementation team for CRM, coordinating deployment within affected departments, developing necessary materials and messaging, developing necessary tracking, etc.
  • * Utilizes market and behavior data to develop communication streams and to enhance communication with donors at all touch-points in their donor lifecycle.

Marketing Data Utilization

  • * Works with database analyst in Division to request marketing analysis, utilize Consumer Point segmentation data for targeting strategy development and request files and analysis for campaigns, etc.
  • * Provides interpretive consultation and planning options based on data available.
  • * Develops and reliably measures the effectiveness of testing scenarios within marketing campaigns.

Project Management

  • * Develops and manages various comprehensive marketing and communication projects. Activities included in this area of responsibility: developing project plan, coordinating elements of project through its lifecycle, collaborating with others, creative problem solving and idea development skills, communicating changes, measuring progress and status of deliverables, completion of timeline and budget, management of project team activities, tracking and summarizing results.

Collaborating/Workgroup Leadership

  • * Collaborates with various internal and external contacts in the planning, design and production of marketing communication materials and projects while ensuring quality and consistency with corporate and marketing objectives. On occasion, will assume leadership and accountability for a cross-functional team or workgroup in carrying out these duties.

Other

  • * Assists with the general projects, activities and duties of Midwest Region Marketing & Communications Department.
  • * Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • * Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent related experience and/or training required.
  • * Proficient in using marketing practices to analyze, address, position and influence the behavior and attitudes of targeted market segments.
  • * Experience using public relations, advertising, media relations, and community relations to achieve business goals desired.
  • * 7 years of communication and marketing experience.
  • * 5 years of project management experience.
  • * Is action and results-oriented, flexible and can handle multiple tasks at once.
  • * Is creative, innovative and demonstrates the ability to navigate self and peers through change and growth.
  • * Is team-oriented; is able to lead a project team and contribute as a team member.
  • * Is calm under pressure, able to coordinate smoothly with others and make good decisions under pressure.
  • * Ability to think and plan strategically.
  • * Ability to interact with senior executives, clients and public entities.
  • * Excellent computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
  • * Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • * Must be detail oriented.
  • * Ability to travel occasionally.

Essential Functions/Physical Requirements:

The duties above indicate the essential functions of the position. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. May be required to travel to sites throughout the region.
